The NOLA-Nippon challenge
September 24, 2012
The third season of Treme
began last night on HBO. Months ago, someone from the show asked us to sign a release so they could use one of our books as a prop. We have no idea if the book made the cut, but we'll be even more glued to the set when Treme
airs this season than we have been the first two seasons.
Chin Music is like Lafcadio Hearn in reverse. We started the press with our sole focus on Japan, then went to New Orleans and fell in love with it. To honor this quirky obsession we have with Nippon & NOLA, we decided to have a little contest to see who among you will be crowned King or Queen Chin Musician of 2012.
Each week of the new season of Treme
, we'll pose a question that links Japan and New Orleans. Get the answer right, and you'll enter a weekly drawing to win a $20 gift certificate in our store. Get the most answers right week after week, and you could be crowned King or Queen Chin Musician of the year and receive an extra $100. Respond on the blog, on our facebook page
, via twitter
, call us (two-oh-six-three-eight-oh-nineteen-forty-seven), email at speak at chin music press dot com, send smoke signals -- contact us in any way this week with the right answer and you'll be entered in the first weekly drawing. Authors and artists, you can join in too. Only staff members are ineligible.
